Following the successful conclusion of Design Shanghai, 535 Jindu Road welcomed designers, industry professionals, and design enthusiasts to explore new ideas in staircase design, materials, and craftsmanship.
The exhibition provided an opportunity to present the latest staircase concepts while reconnecting with long-time partners and meeting new designers and creative professionals from across the industry.
Design Without Unnecessary Boundaries
At the heart of the presentation was a simple idea: good staircase design should combine beauty, function, harmony, and freedom.
Rather than treating the staircase as a purely functional architectural element, the team continues to explore how it can become an important part of the overall interior experience.
The design approach focuses on proportion, movement, materials, structural logic, and the relationship between the staircase and its surrounding architecture.
The team believes that creativity often begins with observation and experience.
By studying architecture, materials, manufacturing techniques, and the way people move through spaces, designers can discover new possibilities beyond conventional staircase forms.
The goal is not simply to create something visually different, but to develop staircase solutions that feel natural within the space while offering a distinctive design identity.
Innovation Through Technology and Materials
For 535 Jindu Road, innovation is not limited to appearance.
New design possibilities often come from combining advanced manufacturing techniques with new materials and structural solutions.
This approach allows the team to explore lighter structures, cleaner details, more complex forms, and improved user experiences while maintaining the performance required for real-world projects.
The exhibition also created opportunities to exchange ideas with architects, interior designers, manufacturers, and other creative professionals.
These conversations continue to influence how the team approaches future staircase projects and encourage collaboration across different areas of architecture and interior design.
Study. Create. Realize.
The philosophy behind the team can be summarized in three words:
Study. Create. Realize.
Study the space, materials, technology, and user needs.
Create ideas without being limited by traditional staircase forms.
And finally, turn those ideas into real, buildable products.
Following Design Shanghai, 535 Jindu Road will continue exploring new materials, technologies, and design approaches, with the goal of transforming creative concepts into staircase solutions that bring greater value to architects, designers, and clients.
For JUSTEP, the future of staircase design is not simply about creating a way to move between floors.
It is about creating an architectural experience.
